Job Opening: Automotive Sales Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team. As the Sales Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the dealership’s sales department and all sales personnel while driving revenue and profitability. You will manage a team of sales professionals, provide guidance and motivation, and implement strategies to maximize performance. Your role will be to ensure the sales process is smooth, customer-focused, and efficient, while also playing a key part in inventory management and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

– Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve sales targets and maintain high morale.

– Prepare material and conduct 2 sales meetings per week.

– Recruit, train, and develop sales staff to ensure strong product knowledge and exceptional customer service.

– Build and maintain company culture through the Business Development Center (BDC) and manage communication within the CRM each day.

– Set individual and team goals, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback.

Customer Experience

– Ensure that every customer has a positive, seamless car-buying experience.

– Oversee the entire sales process, from initial customer interaction to final delivery, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.

– Maintain high CSI scores from the manufacturer.

– Resolve customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and promptness.

Sales Strategy & Performance

– Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and profitability.

– Meet with the dealer principal regularly to discuss reports on sales activities and profitability.

– Analyze sales data and market trends to adjust tactics and improve performance.

– Collaborate with the marketing manager to develop promotions and advertising campaigns that drive traffic and sales.

Inventory & Financial Management

– Manage vehicle inventory, ensuring a balanced stock of new and used cars to meet customer demand.

– Appraise vehicles from the public and/or replenish inventory from other sources.

– Ensure our inventory is merchandised and displayed properly on digital platforms.

– Work with the finance team to create competitive pricing strategies and finance options for customers as well as track contracts in transit.

– Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring profitability and cost-efficiency.

Compliance & Process Improvement

– Ensure the sales team adheres to all dealership policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

– Continuously seek ways to improve sales processes and customer interactions to enhance the dealership’s reputation and performance.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the automotive industry.

– Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a sales team.

– Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

– Solid understanding of sales performance metrics and strategies.

– Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to drive sales growth.

– Proficiency in using dealership management systems and CRM software.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience in managing both new and used vehicle sales.

– Knowledge of automotive finance and insurance (F&I) products.

– Strong local network and relationships within the automotive industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
